Message from HBCR Board

The Hollis/Brookline community was impacted by a great loss in December of 2014 as 17-year old Cam Ricard died tragically in a single car accident caused by black ice. His father Bob Ricard was the driving force behind creating the SVI tournament 9 years ago to give local All- Star teams a chance to play additional summer baseball after District/State tournaments completed. To help carry on Cam’s spirit, love of being an athlete, and the ideals provided by team sports, HB Cal Ripken renamed the tournament and each year provides a donation to a scholarship in Cam’s name.

July 9 – 15 we will be hosting 30-40 teams in our town from all over the state. This is a large undertaking and requires A LOT of volunteer help to succeed. Below are 3 areas that we need
help in:

  1. Food Donations: Food and beverage donations are needed for the concession sales. If interested, please use the following Sign Up Genius to donate items and drop off. Drop off times are listed in the link. Questions may be directed to Deb Goldstein ( ).

    To donate food click here:

  2. Concessions: Concessions will be sold, Friday 7/12 in the afternoon, Saturday 7/13 all day, and Sunday 7/14 all day. If you’re interested and able in assisting with concession sales please contact Deb Goldstein ( ) or Heather Fauteux ( ) A Sign Up Genius will be created once the schedule has been finalized.

  3. Fields: Volunteers are needed to prep the fields on the weeknights and in between games on the weekend. No experience is necessary and there will be someone at each field who knows what will need to be done and can give instruction. Having 2 to 3 people to assist with field raking is incredibly helpful. If you can spare anywhere from 1-4 hours of field help during the tournament we would greatly appreciate it. We had such amazing turnout for opening day clean up we are hoping for the same great results for the tournament. Any help/time is appreciated. To sign up, please contact with the days and times you are available.

HBCR thanks you all for your support and assistance. We cannot succeed without the help and support we receive from the families and community members involved in making HBCR the great program that it is!! Please help make this Annual Cam Ricard Souhegan Valley Invitational the best yet! Let’s play some baseball!
